My brother Anish who is in film school, recently completed a music video for a class project. He worked with a Filipino rock band called Black Smoke. I think its a pretty decent video considering it was a couple of hours work. The music is extremely good. Check out the video below:

The Yes Men fix the world

Just saw this docu-comedy. This is one of the best I have seen this year. This is similar to the other anti-free market, big corporations are evil etc. documentaries like Collapse and Michael Moore's Capitalism a love story. This touches on topics like the Bhopal gas tragedy, reconstruction in post Katrina New Orleans and corporate greed.

All things said the Yes Men duo Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno sure have some guts! You can feel the tension when they are trying to pull off their ludicrous hoaxes. Simply priceless.

Manifesto

I am now going to put down in a few words on what I am going to do with this blog and what you can expect out of it.

I will be talking about things that I just did, like the last movie I saw, what I thought about it. If I took a trip or am planning to take a trip what did I do before as a preparation and what happened during the trip. Anything out of the ordinary I did during work. Planning to put in some technical PeopleSoft related info here for my reference later. Some pictures and events in Bangalore. You get the idea.

My last attempts at humour looks lame when I reread it. So you will notice a marked absence in the post of any humour what so ever.

On the blog title and my url

Why did I choose the title [TODO]? hmm.. that was mainly because fluxcapacitor was not available. But really, [TODO] is the most common comment I put into my code so I can come back later and finish what I haven't. If one opens any of my WIP code, then they are most likely to encounter this word than anything else in the English language. Is TODO even a real word? Never mind, that's besides the point. So, In a way this is a tribute to this beautiful four letter "word" that I depend on so much.

Coming to the URL gallopinggoats. It just occurred to me, the very image of it in my mind was so funny I just had to do it. So, juts like everything I do, on a whim I decided to use that.

Note to future me: There mystery solved. If you are wondering why then this is the answer you were looking for. How are the empirical studies coming along?

First Post!

There I am officially a "blogger" now. After many years of consideration and deliberation I finally decided to take the plunge.

The main intention is to keep a record of things that seems to matter at a specific time. I am really interested in knowing what I was doing or thinking at a certain period in time. Someone once said that we are a product of our past decisions and actions. If that is true then this is an experiment to verify this. I am going to keep track (as humanly as possible, which means a couple of posts a month :)) of all the things I am doing and arrive at an empirical analysis of why I ended up the way I am.
